Covering an expansive geographical area which includes the Central Coast, Sydney’s Northern Beaches and North Shore, Catholic Schools Broken Bay is a system serving 45 Catholic Schools with around 17,000 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

About the Role

The Learning Partner plays a significant role in providing subject matter expertise to support school leaders and teachers in building differentiated learning cultures, ensuring teaching quality, and student engagement and learning across CSBB schools.

The role focuses on building a cohesive system of support to improve outcomes for students with diverse learning needs.

This is a highly collaborative role within the Learner Diversity and Wellbeing unit to build school-level capability to enhance access and participation of students with diverse learning needs within the school community aligned to the legislative disability requirements, including NCCD.

As a specialised practitioner and coach, this role collaborates with school leadership to create inclusive learning environments and ensure high quality education, through identification of students with disabilities, the provision of reasonable adjustments, and related monitoring/reviewing, communication and consultation.

This is a permanent full-time position based at our office in Pennant Hills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports school leadership in ensuring policies, processes and practices are effective in providing a contemporary approach to learner diversity and disability, and meet relevant legislative requirements, including NCCD
     
  • Supports school leadership and teachers in integrating NCCD processes into the work of learning teams in developing learning goals, making curriculum adjustments, implementing programs and monitoring of student progress
     
  • Works with school leaders to develop teacher capability in making curriculum adjustments, implementing programs that meet the needs of students with disability and monitoring student progress
     
  • Collaborates with school leadership to support innovation and improvement to ensure quality teaching and learning for a diverse student population, including the use of a range of assistive technologies
     
  • Collaborates with the Learner Diversity and Wellbeing teams to develop and deliver high-quality, evidence-based blended professional learning
     
  • Collates and analyses evidence required under the four areas outlined in the NCCD aligned to the annual census audits
     
  • Engages in strategic initiatives and participate in key projects aligned to Towards 2025 as required

About You

  • Supportive of, or can demonstrate an understanding and commitment to, the ethos of the Catholic faith in an educational context
     
  • Working understanding of NSW syllabus documents, with subject matter expertise in inclusive education or students with a disability
     
  • Understanding of curriculum, the regulatory requirements, and current developments, related to quality teaching and the leadership in diverse learning and students with a disability
     
  • Knowledge of and experience in leading the NCCD to enhance inclusive school cultures
     
  • Practical understanding of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, the Australian Professional Standard for Principals, the Australian Teacher Performance and Development Framework, and the Australian Charter for Professional Learning of Teachers and School Leaders, and the National School Improvement Tool
     
  • Deep understanding of effective pedagogy and assessment practices
     
  • Has a solutions-focused mindset
     
  • Has sound knowledge and skill in the Microsoft suite of products
     
  • Understands the connections between strategic goals and operational activities within Student Achievement, for each individual school and the impact on teaching and learning in each context
     
  • Understanding of contemporary approaches to the design, delivery and evaluation of professional learning within a ‘standards’ informed environment
     
  • Understands and appreciates performance growth and adult learning and associated methodologies

Qualifications

  • Highly skilled teacher with experience in learner diversity and teaching students with a disability
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Current and valid NSW Driver’s Licence
