ABOUT THE ROLEThe College seeks an experienced and qualified Learning Support Assistant.
The role will be responsible for providing effective assistance to teachers to enable them to enhance the learning outcomes of their students. The Learning Support Assistant will work as a member of the Learning Support Team to implement strategies, programs and support that will enable student learning in the secondary school (Years 7 - 12).
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans for students with additional needs
- Assist teachers with the development of resources and programs that support students with additional needs
- Assist with Teaching Resources Preparation
- Participate as a member of the Learning Support Team and the College Community
- Contribute positively as a member of a team, actively promoting WHS procedures and working collaboratively with College staff
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
- Qualifications in Education Support or equivalent
- Experience in a school setting, including supporting students with a range of physical, social/emotional and cognitive needs
- Passionate about understanding how students learn and the ability to support the development of classroom environments that meet the needs of all learners
- The capacity to work as a member of a dynamic Learning Support team
- A current Working With Children Clearance (NSW)
- First Aid Qualification
