Northpine Christian College is an independent, Seventh Day Adventist school for Prep to Year 12 students located in Dakabin in the Moreton Bay region, QLD.
We are seeking passionate Learning Support Teacher Aide staff with the disposition and skills to support and enhance student growth and potential. We focus on providing a nurturing and inclusive Christ-centred environment for all students and successful applicants will be responsible for upholding our Christian ethos.
LEARNING SUPPORT ROLE DESCRIPTION:
- Support differentiation, adjustments and modifications generated by Case Managers, Subject Teachers, Year Level Coordinators and Therapists to meet the learning, social, emotional, physical, communication and behavioural needs of students with support needs
- Support Students (Prep to Year 12) individually or in small groups within the classroom
- Work collaboratively and consult with Teachers and Case Managers to help implement learning
- Record and enter student support delivered as required by school NCCD policy and procedures
- Create and help prepare necessary resources and equipment for students with a disability in consultation with Case Managers and Teachers
- Attend class excursions, school carnivals, staff meetings, professional development, and mandatory training as required
- Supervise GLAD (Growing Learning and Academic Development) sessions as rostered during student lunch breaks
- Complete observations of students and give feedback to the Case Manager and/or Teacher
- Undertake playground duties
- Implement all privacy and confidentiality procedures
KEY PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrate a commitment to working in the ministry of Adventist Education as defined by Adventist Schools Australia
- Previous experience working as a teacher aide is preferred
- For Secondary support, competent and confident in Secondary School level content
- Strong personal Literacy and Numeracy skills
- Uphold and show respect for professional communication and interpersonal skills
- High-level organisational and planning skills
- Resilience and ability to adapt quickly to changes in timetables
- Adhere to the Staff Code of Conduct
- Demonstrated competence and confidence in using a personal computer and relevant software packages
- A certificate Level in Educational Support or equivalent qualifications
- A current Paid Blue Card / Working with Children Check

- Successful applicants will begin on a three-month probationary period
