Couper Lawyers is seeking a Paralegal/ Legal Assistant to join our team.

About our Firm

Couper Lawyers is a specialist commercial law firm based in Coffs Harbour. We provide legal services in business sales and acquisitions, conveyancing and property development, leasing, business agreements, wills and estate planning.

About our Team

We have a small and stable team that consists of an accredited business law specialist supported by a solicitor, 2 paralegals and an accounts officer. We operate a modern open plan paperless office on the LEAP software platform.

About the Role

Examples of the sort of work that you would be involved in include:

• Preparation of leases
• Property conveyancing
• Business sales and purchases
• Wills and estates
• General commercial

Office duties would include answering phone calls and emails, scheduling appointments, opening and closing files, preparing accounts and liaising with clients as required.

About you

Ideally you would:

• have experience as a paralegal/Legal Assistant
• be familiar with LEAP legal software;
• be proficient in Office 365 (Microsoft Word and Outlook in particular);
• have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills;
• have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn; and
• work well with others in a team environment.

Working Hours and Benefits 

The Paralegal/Legal Assistant role is 5 days a week in the office but working hours are negotiable.  A competitive salary will be offered based on the experience of the applicant.
