Carter Ferguson Solicitors is an established law firm seeking a Licensed Conveyancer and an experienced Conveyancing Paralegal to join their team.
You will become part of a team in one of our six locations in the beautiful Illawarra & Shoalhaven, working closely with the Directors, team of Solicitors and Paralegals.
You will have a hands-on approach, be passionate about collaboration and getting results by providing a more human, caring and contemporary approach to the law.
The right candidates will have a high attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills; and be comfortable dealing with internal and external stakeholders. It is important that you possess a strong sense of compassion and empathy, and can listen to client's needs to provide the most appropriate support and assistance for their situation.
You will be a problem solver who has excellent Office 365 skills and who can deal with multiple tasks at one time. You will have great time management, be able to work well in a team, with the ability to work autonomously with your own initiative.
Key responsibilities include:
• Counselling private and commercial clients, dealing with any legal setbacks for them as they embark on the buying and selling process.
• Explaining complex technical documentation in clear and simple terms.
• Gathering property information through liaising with estate agents, solicitors, lenders, and local authorities.
• Drafting contracts, leases, and transfer documents, ensuring they are signed by all relevant parties and exchanged on schedule.
• Dealing with lease extensions, transfer of equity, mortgages, and re-mortgages.
A minimum of at least 2+ years experience is required for a Licensed Conveyancer role and a minimum 1+ years experience for a Conveyancing Paralegal role, preferably in New South Wales.

Skills & Experience:
- Hold a NSW Conveyancing Licence
- Minimum 2 years experience in conveyancing
- PEXA experience is a must and experience using DocuSign and SharePoint would be ideal but not essential
- Proficient in LEAP and Outlook 365 for email communication, diary management and reports
- High attention to detail
- Knowledge of state property laws and requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment
- Ability to communicate efficiently with internal and external stakeholders
