ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the General Counsel, the Legal Operations Manager is responsible for providing in-house operational support to Football Australia Legal & Integrity & Compliance team. In performing this role, the Legal Operations Manager will provide support to the General Counsel, Head of Commercial Legal the broader Legal and Compliance Department to build processes to ensure the wider legal team is constantly improving its efficiency and operations. This role will be required to liaise with key business stakeholders and external legal service providers to ensure that the legal team is set up for success and well supported.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and operational support to the General Counsel;
- Work closely with the legal team to plan regular and meaningful meetings for the legal team and book and coordinate these meetings as well as assist in the planning of the meetings, agenda and co-ordination of logistics;
- Support the General Counsel and finance team in ensuring robust procedures are in place and being responsible for raising purchase orders, processing invoices, monitoring expenditure and tracking legal budget;
- Coordinate and liaise with outside legal counsel;
- Ensure key operational documents are kept up to date and published where appropriate;
- Support the General Counsel and the wider legal team in planning, coordinating and tracking legal team OKRs/goals;
- Support the General Counsel and the wider legal team in legal projects, project management and developing and preparing presentations;
- Support the General Counsel and the wider legal team in building out and maintaining knowledge;
ABOUT YOU
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills
- Project management experience
- Conscientious worker with high attention to detail
- Advanced working knowledge and experience with MS suite (especially word, excel and PowerPoint) and software applications including sharepoint, workflow management platforms, document management systems and electronic signature systems (docusign).
- Reporting and data analytics skills including experience using reporting and analysis tools such as Power BI and Tableau
- Ideally experience with software and planning tools including Jira; Confluence; MS suite
- High standards of integrity, ability to represent Football Australia interests.
- Able to handle highly confidential and sensitive material with the discretion of an experienced legal professional.
- Ability to develop and format effective written materials used for presentations and/or the summary of research projects, etc.
- Ability to work autonomously and show initiative
- Multi-tasking abilities with a high degree of tenacity and persistence
- Pragmatic, analytical, resourceful and capable of combining legal expertise and common sense to provide pragmatic useful advice in a fast-paced environment;
- Team player, excellent communicator, ability to think through problems and achieve effective solutions, innovative and constantly seeking better ways of doing things.

- Full working rights in Australia
- Working with children check (paid/employee) or state-based equivalent
- National Police Check
- International Criminal History Record for each country (other than Australia) in which you have resided for 12 months or more in the last 10 years (if applicable)
