Saint Raphael's home for the Aged is a small Nursing Home dedicated to holistic care based on the philosophies of the Franciscan Sisters of the Heart of Jesus. Saint Raphael's has 33 beds and caters to a wide diverse cultural community.
We are seeking applications for a permanent or part time position for a motivated and enthusiastic Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator who will be responsible for engaging our residents in meaningful lifestyle programs to maximise their quality of life while maintaining their individual optimum level of independence.
Key responsibilities
- Liaise with the DRCS and nursing staff in the planning and implementation of therapeutic activities programs for individuals and groups.
- Maintain documentation of activities, outcomes of programs and other appropriate records.
- Provide an atmosphere and the opportunity for all residents to socialise.
- Create a stimulating environment by promoting mental and physical health and fitness.
- Provide a variety of activities that include active, passive, physical, intellectual, spiritual and cultural groups.
- Encourage relatives and friends to participate in activities of individual interest.
- Use volunteer personnel to assist with or conduct programs of individual interest.
- Arrange for school or community groups to visit.
- Maintain residents' mobility in order to attain their independence.
- Provide residents' participation and entertainment.
- Organise resident / relatives meetings.
- Organise bus trips, outings, raffles and other special functions.
- Prepare weekly programs and display in allocated areas.
- Write in progress notes for residents on assessment and evaluation.
- Maintain residents' dignity and privacy.
Experience and skills
- Experience in designing and implementing individual and group programs for the Aged.
- Experience in working with older adults and / or people with disabilities.
- Experience in working with Dementia patients.
- Experience in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Sensitivity and empathy.
- Enthusiasm, motivation, punctuality and reliability.
This is a permanent or part-time position that is challenging and rewarding with a competitive salary and salary sacrificing availability.
Salary: $61,516 to $64,833

- National Police certificate
