About the Role
The Library Services & Programs Officer (LSPO) is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service to library customers and supports the library team in delivering positive, interactive programs and activities that engage all members of the community in lifelong learning, digital literacy, and technology.
The incumbent will be based at Mornington but may be rostered to work at any Library branch within the Mornington Peninsula Shire and on the mobile library van.
Reporting to the Library Service Coordinator the core responsibilities include:
- Supporting the day-to-day operations of the library including shelving, tidying and display maintenance.
- Helping customers to access online Library Services, products and other technologies and provide training and support through formal or informal training programs.
- Working to build effective teamwork and communication and sharing responsibility for all team decisions.
About You
- Customer service experience/extensive successful experience in a frontline customer service role.
- A thorough understanding of the role and function of public libraries in the community and how they contribute to life-long learning.
- Sound digital literacy skills and ability to rapidly acquire and apply new technology
