The Town of Walkerville is a small, dynamic and innovative Council, which serves a community of more than 8,000 residents in the eastern metropolitan region. The Council is seeking an experienced enthusiastic individual to join the team. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, with a passion for delivering a high-level service to our internal and external stakeholders across Council.
The position:The Home Library Service enables residents who are aged, frail, in ill health or have a permanent or temporary disability and are unable to visit the library in person, to have library items delivered directly to their home or permanent residence.
The volunteer assists library staff to select library items, pack and transfer items to the vehicle and deliver to the eligible library member, as well as collecting returned materials for processing.
The volunteer will also aid in cultivating a strong customer service experience in order to provide the resident with a quality, personalised service.
Delivery will be scheduled for the third Monday or Wednesday of each month from 10.30am to 12pm approximately.
Key responsibilities:- assisting staff in the selection of material for Home Library members;
- assisting staff with the issuing and returning of material on the library management system;
- assisting staff with the packing, delivery and collection of material for Home Library members; and
- other duties as required to assist staff in the provision of the Home Library service.
