The Team Leader of Lifestyle and Learning has a diverse role and is responsible for leading a team of support workers who work directly with Aspire customers. The Team Leader is purpose driven and responsible for day to day supervision and administration responsibilities to ensure Aspire customers are receiving quality, person centered and customer focused outcomes. The role leads the delivery of group programs.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Participate in the OnCall service by being rostered on the OnCall roster and supporting when necessary.
- Provide operational or procedural direction and/or advice to team by referring to relevant policy and process, and ensuring knowledge and information is shared.
- Facilitate probation reviews; and supervision and support reviews and implement performance management strategies as and when required as a support tool to improve performance
- Provide coaching and mentoring to support growth and development within the team
- Liaise closely with the Training and Development Officer to implement training initiatives to ensure ongoing compliance
- Understand customer requirements with regards to High Intensity Supports and ensure staff who are matched with customers have received sufficient training as per the NDIS Practice Standards and High Intensity Support Skill Descriptors.
- Identify staffing gaps within the team and liaise closely with Manager and Human Resources during the selection and recruitment process
- Ensure team meetings are structured and effective, in accordance with Aspire requirements
- Ensure staff rostering is done in accordance with Aspire and relevant legislative requirements
- Ensure weekly and monthly unauthorised and authorised restrictive practice reporting is complete as per the required timeline.
- Assist team members with Mandatory Reporting, if required.
- Closely liaise with customer service and intake teams to ensure a smooth transition into and out of Aspire services
- Ensure all customer information and reporting are up to date at all times as required by relevant government agencies
- Ensure that workers can identify and report early and current indicators of discrimination, exploitation, neglect, abuse, violence or other violations of participant rights.
- Able to record and escalate any matters raised within teams such as sexual harassment or sex-based harassment, bullying and harassment in accordance with relevant policies.
- Investigate all incidents as they occur and are logged in Aspires WHS and Quality Systems
- Ensure all reportable incidents are submitted to the NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission within the required timeframes, and that sufficient supporting evidence and information is provided.
- Ensure all staff injuries (personal and workplace) are reported to the Manager, Human Resources and Injury and Wellbeing Manager in a timely manner and in accordance with the injury management policy and process

Qualifications:
Relevant Tertiary qualification and/or extensive leadership experience.
You must hold:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
- Current Drivers License
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- NSW Working with Children's Check
- VIC Working with Children's Check
- Residential Worker Register Clearance
