Surfing Australia is a National Sporting Organisation (NSO) that was formed in 1963 to establish, guide and promote the development of surfing within Australia. The organisation is the link to international surfing pathways including the International Surfing Association and operates in a federated model with 6 State associations. About the Hyundai High Performance Centre
A 3 level multi-purpose facility located in Casuarina:
- Accommodation for up to 42 guests
- Modern commercial kitchen and dining room
- Training and recovery facilities for elite athletes
- Meeting rooms and auditoriums
- Employee offices
- Open plan living and recreational areas
The roles
Two live-in positions based in the stunning beachside location of Casuarina, ideally suited to a couple with backgrounds as a chef/experienced cook and housekeeping/cleaning.
Reporting to the HPC Manager, the primary role is overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations, from menu development to food preparation, presentation and service, experience in the service of meals for up to 60 guests is essential. Secondary role is a housekeeper/cleaner for the accommodation and building, experience within hospitality industry managing and cleaning accommodation is desirable.
Chef/Experienced CookResponsibilities
- Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, ordering food supplies and managing stock and waste reduction
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Ensure high-quality food production and adherence to recipes and portion sizes.
- Service of meals
- Enforcing hygiene regulations
- Report guest feedback and actions to the HPC Manager
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Chef in a medium volume restaurant or similar establishment.
- Qualifications as a chef or equivalent certification from a recognised institute.
- Strong menu development and food stock management
- Leadership abilities with a track record of effectively self managing
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with staff, management, suppliers, and customers.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in designated areas.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
- Make beds, change linens, and organize rooms to ensure a neat and tidy appearance.
- Stock and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Assist with laundry duties as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a clean and hazard-free environment.
- Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed to the appropriate department.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and thorough cleaning schedules.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and guests when needed
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Housekeeper or similar role.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and lift/move heavy objects if required.
