About the Role
Would you like to be a Local Area Coordinator - Information, Linkages and Capacity Building and join our National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Local Area Coordination program (LAC) located at our Ashmore office?
This position will deliver the NDIS Local Area Coordination program by working with a broad cross section of the community including people with disability who have an NDIS plan; families transitioning from the Early Childhood, Early Intervention (ECEI) partner; connecting with specific sectors of the community to support access to the NDIS for hard to reach groups; and link individuals with disability who are not eligible for or interested in accessing the NDIS to mainstream and community supports, services and activities.

Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:
- Increase community knowledge about the NDIS
- Work with organisations and community groups to be part of NDIS engagement and awareness activities and events
- Work with key stakeholders to support NDIS people needing extra support
- Work with people to understand their NDIS plan and how they can use it
- Work with people to use their plan to reach their goals
- Run Capacity Building workshops (face to face and online)

Do you have?
- Experience in running workshops in community?
- A belief that people know what is best for them?
- Experience working with people in community to build their skills?
- Qualifications in the fields of Human Services, Community Development, Social Sciences, Disability and experience or further qualifications in the area of community development/community engagement?
