ABOUT THE ROLE
The primary purpose of the Logistics Coordinator is to assist in the day-to-day booking of import and export freight and assisting the Operations Managers in any associated transport work as well undertaking activities associated with operations, safety, finance, payroll and human resources.
Specific Responsibilities
• Arrange delivery of Break Bulk, FCLs, with some air and LCL cartage also• Organising freight exports and Imports• Coordination of import documentation and liaising with in-house customs brokerage team.• Help to maximise profitability of transport jobs by acting in a timely manner and avoiding cost-leakage• Courier/airfreight bookings• To provide finance support in creating and managing purchase order numbers and preparing costing sheets• Record and verify financial transactions• Provide accurate information to customers, management and suppliers• Preparing quotes for customers• To ensure all contract rates are invoiced to client in accordance with the specific contract• To ensure all contract conditions pertaining to rates and services are adhered to• To ensure all jobs are billed out within a timely manner• To ensure all relevant paperwork is collated and attached as per invoicing procedures• Ensure that all reporting on customer orders is maintained and up to date (data entry)• Create and allocate Purchase Orders for all items purchased on behalf of the site• To work as directed by the Operations Manager
Qualifications/Experience Required
• A minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar role.• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people.• Advanced skills using Microsoft Office, Excel and Power point.• Ability to work autonomously using a proactive approach to task resolution.• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment.• Ability to work well within a small team environment.
