Riverina Fresh is a 100% Australian owned Dairy Manufacturer and Food Services Distribution company celebrating its 100th Anniversary. We produce a range of award-winning dairy products including the iconic Riverina Fresh branded milks, creams, and yogurts. We also provide our hospitality and café customers with an extensive foodservices product range.

From our manufacturing operation in Wagga Wagga, we supply retail, hospitality and industrial customers across NSW, Victoria and ACT, including operating our own warehousing and distribution to these channels. Following an exciting period of growth, we have a fantastic new opportunity for a Logistics Coordinator to join our Enfield Distribution team. 

Reporting to the Distribution Manager - Sydney, this role leads our Driver Teams to ensure our customers delivery and service promises are met for customer partners.  We are looking for a Leader whose broad operational experienced in all aspects of transport and logistics operations, coupled with utilising their hands-on practical skills, highly motivates them. 

In joining our team, you will be responsible for operational leadership for our nightshift-based Driver team at our Enfield Distribution facility. Hours of work for this role are generally 9pm to 5am, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Providing leadership and direction to our team of Drivers;
  • Resolving day-to-day Driver challenges and monitoring Driver operations as first point of contact for any issues;
  • Managing Driver rosters to cover planned/unplanned leave;
  • Training new Drivers and assessing Driver competence/performance;
  • Relief MR Driver responsibilities as required, (approx once per week);
  • Leading the team aligned to the Safety Management Program, including incident notification, hazard identification and pre-start vehicle inspections;
  • Resolving day-to-day delivery challenges and queries by communicating with customers and internal stakeholders; 
  • Cultivating a culture of excellence in both work and safety and ensuring adherence to both company and industry, safety policies and procedures;
  • Scheduling fleet repairs, maintenance, and servicing as required;
  • Ensuring rigorous compliance with National Heavy Vehicle Laws and CoR (Chain of Responsibility) procedures and guidelines;
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance Driver operations processes and streamline fleet productivity and efficiency; and 
  • Maintaining accurate records using appropriate systems.

Providing people and safety leadership which enables a healthy working environment for all team members and contractors, through positive culture, work conditions, equipment and safety systems is the highest priority. 

Complying with relevant statutory obligations, standards, and approved codes of practice, including a critical focus on Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements for all work activities is core to the role.

What we are looking for:

  • Current MR or HR Drivers Licence (essential);
  • Transport and logistics operational experience, including MR or HR multidrop driving experience ideally within an FMCG organisation;
  • High level of organisational skills, ability to analyse information, make appropriate decisions and problem-solve in a fast paced, time critical environment;
  • High degree of commitment to chain of responsibility (COR) and safety;
  • Ability to build rapport with peers through great communication (both written and verbal) and role modelling behaviour;
  • High degree of attention to detail;
  • Good understanding of Quality and food safety requirements;
  • Ability to use a computer and sound knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills; and
  • Flexibility to support 24/6 operations, when required.
