YOUR ROLE
This role is designed for you to have ownership and apply your expertise as the trusted “go to person” to support the Production Manager and production team. We have a close group of suppliers, and managing these relationships effectively and proactively is integral to our operation.
This role is a Full Time Permanent Position. The required working hours are: Monday - Thursday 7am - 4pm, Friday 7am - 1pm
Key responsibilities include:
- Raise, maintain and monitor Purchase Orders (PO's) (hardware, glass, timber, consumables) (MYOB)
- Follow up with suppliers throughout the PO lifecycle
- Manage PO ETA’s to coincide with production requirements (Production Schedule) and proactively communicate updates to the Production Manager
- Ensure long lead items, back orders, replacement / reorders are managed
- Liaising with our supplier reps regularly and building strong rapport with key stakeholders
- Maintain purchasing spreadsheet and product information as well as implementing improvements
- Maximise opportunities for best prices by ordering appropriate quantities and reviewing product & price comparisons
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and reports that create efficiencies of the purchasing function
- Supporting the Production Manager with administrative duties
- Assisting the Delivery Coordinator with the delivery schedule tasks
- Work Health & Safety Administration including management of the safety system
Key selection criteria for this position:
- 5 years experience in a purchasing role is necessary
- Proficiency in Excel is required and MYOB knowledge is an advantage
- Excellent data entry and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to negotiate and shop around
- Effective workload prioritisation and planning skills
- Ability to work under pressure and cope with time constraints
- Confident to respond promptly and effectively when problems arise
