Purchasing Coordinator
Scholastic Australia, a leading publisher of children’s books and educational material is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Supply Chain team on a 12 month parental leave contract.
Based at Lisarow this is a full-time position.
You will be responsible for the co-ordination, liaison & placing of orders with various publishing companies in Australia and overseas. Responsibilities will include purchase order generation, reviewing/actioning planning and purchase order requests, ensuring that demand requirements are satisfied for all relevant inventory items and providing support to the business to minimise out of stock risks. Another key task of this position is to review inventory and manage the approval of EDI orders to the warehouse.
Applicants will need to have:
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and database experience
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong relationship building skills
- Proven problem resolution skills
- An eye for detail and strong analytical ability
- Time management skills and the ability to work to schedules
- Experience in ERP systems / Supply Planning is desirable
To be successful in this role you will need to be able to work as part of a team locally and liaise with our suppliers in making timely purchasing decisions. Applicants also need to demonstrate good organisational skills, the ability to prioritise, show initiative and a positive and willing attitude.
