Logistics Manager – Sydney Markets – 110K + Super

Extrastaff are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to work the Early Morning Shift at the Flemington Markets. Immediate start, Permanent role paying $110k + Super.

The Client:
The Sydney Markets, Flemington location, specialising in fresh produce in both retail sales and wholesaling.

The Role: Logistics Manager

Supporting the Managing Director with the day-to-day operation of 2 X Vendor stalls and an onsite warehouse, you will be responsible for the overall management of staff, Stock inwards, Deliveries, Transfers and overall management and safety of the 3 work areas on site. You will be assisted by a Warehouse manager, Supervisors and Team leaders to ensure an efficient warehouse operation in achieving business targets.

Your main duties will involve:

Leadership

• Team management and leadership
• Management and supervision of all operational staff
• Manage workforce and labour planning for operational team of 40+ employees, including, Supervisors and Team Leaders
• Responsible for employment, performance appraisals, performance management and termination of all operational staff.
• Lead regular toolbox meetings and ensuring all communication is delivered effectively to the Operations Team
• Drive a safety-focused and high-performance culture

Stock Inwards

• Plans for the prompt unloading and storage of all incoming stock with a goal of zero loss.
• Ensures incoming stock is recorded and checked, reporting any deficiencies upon receipt.
• Arranges for extra staff casual staff where required
• Deliveries & Transfers
• Supervise and assists in the picking and packing of orders.
• Achieves and maintains order picking and delivery targets to set guidelines.
• Supervise the timely dispatch of goods to stands and customers
• Organise paperwork (invoices) according to the delivery schedule for each day

In Conjunction with the Warehouse Manager

• Implement standard operating procedures across Samson's operations and improve on warehouse processes to ensure a safe, efficient and productive work environment
• Organise maintenance and repair of forklifts, and all other tools and equipment
• Ensures all stock is correctly located to provide highest efficiency in dispatch times
• Ensures stock is labelled for efficient delivery/transfer
• Conducts accurate stocktakes daily
• Ensure Company policies on Workplace Health and Safety are in place and followed

The Candidate:

This role will vary every night! You must be a team player and a leader that leads by example. You will have excellent communication skills and strive to gain the best from your team on a nightly basis.

To be successful in obtaining this role you will have the following:

Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualifications in logistics / business/ supply chain
• Valid Forklift License
• MR or HR truck license is advantageous

Required Experience:

• Fresh Produce / Fruit and Vegetable industry experience
• An understanding or perishable goods picking, stock rotation and expiry date sorting
• Previous Team lead / supervisory experience of teams of 20+
• Customer relationship experience
• Previous experience in training staff (Pickers and forklift operators)
• Reporting experience
• Planning and production experience
• Receiving and despatch Experience
• Previous Early morning or Night shift experience
• Excellent WHS knowledge
