About the Position
Based at our Narangba, QLD site and reporting to the Logistics Manager - East, the Logistics Officer is responsible for organising and planning the incoming and outgoing flow of modes of transport in a cost effective and cost-efficient way, supporting the on-time delivery of incoming goods while also meeting the company’s KPI for Deliver In Full and On Time. The position also plays a crucial role in ensuring shipments leaving the Narangba facility are loaded and restrained in line with transport regulations.
Core duties include:
- Plan incoming shipments in conjunction with outgoing shipments and available resources
- Check deliveries are in line with delivery docket (# of pallets/bundles/packages); any discrepancies and/or damages to shipment to be reported to Purchasing department
- Where required, book goods receiving in the system
- Organise for goods to be distributed to the correct department
- Plan daily dispatching requirements by coordinating the requirements of the customer with availability of product and transport
- Create load sheets, ensuring that the product, quantity and delivery instructions coincide with customer’s order
- Ensure that loads do not exceed statutory load limits of trucks
- Check products on truck against the load sheets to ensure the correct goods are loaded
- Inspect loads to ensure that goods have been loaded correctly and comply with load restraint guidelines
- Ensure that drivers sign all paperwork and that the Chain of Responsibility form has been completed and signed by driver and Dispatch Officer before leaving
- Ensure pick and pack requirements to meet shipment dates
- Communicate any shortfalls to stakeholders: Production, Sales, Planning and Logistics
About You
To be successful in the role you will have a thorough understanding of the freight forwarding industry, with knowledge of relevant rules and regulations and Incoterms. You will also have a strong understanding of Quality Assurance, Load Restraining and Chain of Responsibility.
You will also possess all the following attributes:
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Customer focused and proactive to meet customer demands
- Knowledge of transport and logistics

- ERP systems knowledge (MPS, S&OP)
- Manual handling
- Warehousing knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of inventory control systems
