About the role:
We are now seeking to employ an experienced Logistics Officer/Operator at our Koolan Island Operation on a 14 Days On / 7 Day Off (12-hour day) roster from Perth, Broome or Derby.
Reporting directly to the Logistics Supervisor, the primary focus of this role is to work as part of a team to provide safe & efficient logistics operational support across the Koolan Island mine site.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Intra island transport of goods, plant and equipment.
- Ensuring all Logistics equipment is maintained in safe working order, all faults are recorded and reported.
- Prime mover operations across site.
- RORO (Roll On Roll Off) barging services including debunking diesel fuel, unloading and loading.
- Dogging, Rigging and Crane Support services across site.
- Liaising with Derby based Logistics team.
- Assisting warehouse personnel as required.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Current Drivers Licence – HC or MC class (unrestricted) – essential
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an operator in a similar operation or industry – essential
- Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) or ability to obtain
- Dangerous goods by Sea Certificate (IMDG Full Accept) or ability to obtain
- Dangerous goods security card or qualify to obtain
- Licences to perform High Risk Work:
- Forklift (preferred)
- Dogging (preferred)
- Basic Rigging (preferred) - Sound load restraint experience
- Sound heavy vehicle operational experience
- Experience completing equipment pre-starts & mechanical checks.
- Integrated Tool Carrier/Wheel loader, Telehandler experience
- Experience with the transportation and storage of explosives according to statutory requirements.
