As part of the Craig Mostyn Group, V&V Walsh Meat Processors & Exporters is a state-of-the-art dual species meat processing facility based in the Southwest of Western Australia.
Job Description:
- Purchasing of materials which include packaging and chemicals as required for the day-to-day operations of the plant.
- Supplier management including updating and maintaining supplier database and ensuring that all supplies and materials are suitable for intended use, received in acceptable condition, conform to Australian and Export Standards and where applicable have the documented DA Approvals for use on an Export Registered Establishment.
- Liase with inventory management/production to ensure adequate inventory levels within min/max/safety levels, maintaining accurate records and replenishments to meet business needs
- Maintain a secure and clean stores facility.
- Organize the stores facility so all items are accessible.
- Perform tasks to ensure efficient day-to-day stores operations including material/equipment ordering, receiving, dispersing, issuing and disposing.
- Provide materials/equipment to internal staff, including specific inventories in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Receive and store incoming materials, equipment, inspecting and ensuring accuracy and quality of goods.
- Perform work or use equipment reliant on holding formal licenses (such as forklift license) to undertake stores/logistics activities including unloading and distribution of goods or moving pallets.
- Carry out formal stocktakes to meet defined schedules and timeframes.
- Create and maintain supplier relationships.
- Implement supply chain strategies.
- Procure stock required to support the business production requirements.
Skills and experience:
- Medium to high level of competence in use of Microsoft Office or ability to use manual and computerised systems to support stores management operations.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail with or hands on attitude
- Strong execution, analytical and quantitative skills.
- Experience performing a range of stores management activities.
- Minimum class C drivers and willingness to update licences and undertake essential training as required.
- Forklift licence desirable but not essential.
- Strong organization skills
Please be advised that a pre-employment medical, inclusive of a fitness test, baseline hearing test, and drug and alcohol screen, is a requirement of employment at V&V Walsh. We also now require all incoming staff to be Q-fever vaccinated. The Q-fever vaccination will be a part of the pre-employment medical.
Salary Range: $80K-90K
