Machine Operators - Thomastown Vic

ILS, a progressive labour hire company is seeking contractors to engage at our client site in Melbourne’s North East (Thomastown Area), as Machine Operator/Forklift Driver.

Our client is a market leader in the manufacturing of adhesive products in the Construction, industrial and stationery industries. 

Machine Operator/Forklift Driver

Aspect of the role includes, but is not limited to:

• The primary role of the Machine Operator is to prepare and mix raw materials to produce finished goods. 
• Handling of raw materials are in the form of bulk liquids, and small liquid and solids containers. Manual handling of 25 kg or less.
• Movement of small raw materials is performed with forklifts or electric pallet movers, or hoists.
• Small liquid containers of up to 20 litres (15kg) require manual lifting and movement on occasion.
• Bulk bag filling requires the operator to apply and affix bag chutes to the point of filling.
• Prepare pre-batch (raw materials) for production.
• Obtain samples from reactors and other vessels.
• Driving a forklift or operation of electric pallet mover
• 5S and general housekeeping duties
• Current shifts available: 
•            Day Shift: 
•            Usual Hours: Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm
•            Training Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 5.30pm 
•            Contractor Hourly Pay Rate $38.49 per hour plus Superannuation 
•           Afternoon Shift: 
•           Usual Hours: Monday to Friday, 2pm to 10pm
•           Training Hours: Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm 
•           Contractor Hourly Pay Rate for Afternoon $44.26 per hour plus                     Superannuation 
•           Contractor Hourly Pay Rate for Day shift Training $38.49 per hour               plus Superannuation 

To be considered for the role, contractors must have:

• Reliable car
• Good attitude, ethics and punctual
• Numeracy and communication skills
• Available for immediate start
• Great attention to detail, mechanically minded
• Hold a current valid forklift licence

Successful candidates must have ‘can do’ attitude, ability to work autonomously and be physically fit and reliable.
