The Club boasts a first-class range of dining, event, social and leisure facilities in the heart of the CBD including the heritage Members’ Bar and Dining Room; a Function Centre catering for up to 300 guests; Accommodation rooms; retail tenancies; a fully equipped Health and Wellness Centre with 25 metre indoor heated swimming pool as well as a Business Centre and multiple workspaces for Members.

We have recently opened a new contemporary dining precinct within the Club to expand facilities further for Members and their guests, bringing a new vibrancy to our dining offering.

We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and enthusiastic individual to join our team and help maintain one of Brisbane’s most iconic landmarks. This is an integral role to ensure that all Club maintenance and fixtures are maintained in first class working order and to ensure machinery and equipment problems have been reported to a maintenance contractor.

The successful applicant will have initiative to go above and beyond and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with our contractors as well as internal staff. In the absence of the Property and Facilities Manager, this role will oversee any contractors on site so your strong communication skills and ability to think fast to reduce possible damage is what sets you apart from the others.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

• Recognise and repair maintenance problems or report to the relevant contractor for repair in a timely manner. General repairs may include plumbing, light bulb changes, painting, plastering and carpentry.
• Preventative maintenance and inspections of public spaces and guest rooms
• Monitor and maintain air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure Arcade tenants and club guest comfort and respond to guest complaints related to temperature control and make necessary adjustments.
• Ensuring compliance with ensuring scheduled Test and Tag, RCD testing and call out licenced electrician when required.
• Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, such as power outages or water leaks, to minimise damage or disruption to Club operations.
• Problem solving, reporting and managing maintenance issues to minimise disruption, this will sometimes require after hours attention.
• Always consider the safety of guests and yourself before performing any task
• Ensure the welfare and comfort of guests and members is always of top priority.
• Confidently speak to Contractors, staff and guests about facilities and services
• Taking pride in the workplace and ensurin­g our venues are well maintained throughout the year.

• Maintenance experience
• Working safely with others
• Use power tools competently.
• Carry out maintenance tasks.
• Previous trade experience
• Prior experience using Microsoft Office & Outlook
