About the Opportunity
The role entails conducting general facilities maintenance and minor non-trade repairs at Serco's Christmas Island Immigration Detention Centre. This may involve collaborating with subcontractors and service providers to ensure the smooth delivery of maintenance and project management services in line with contractual requirements. Reporting to the Asset Supervisor, the incumbent will play a key role in achieving set objectives efficiently and effectively, thereby ensuring customer satisfaction and meeting contractual obligations.
To be successful for this role, you must be willing to relocate to Christmas Island. Permanent residents from the mainland will be highly regarded.
What you’ll be doing
- General facilities maintenance and minor repairs as requested from Asset Supervisor
- Management of asset register as well as the requirement to operate necessary computerized systems.
- Promote the collaborative relationship between SIS and ABF in the pursuit of mutual trust, shared vision and common goals
- Ensuring the effective management and achievement of all related OH&S, Environmental and Quality issues.
- Ensure all contract deliverables comply with relevant Commonwealth and State Legislation, Corporate Policies, and Safe Work Practices.
About you
You are a seasoned professional with a strong background in facility maintenance and repair. Your ideal skills and experience include a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to quality service.
Your ideal skills & experience -
- Trade Qualifications or relevant experience in Carpentry
- Sound background in working with subcontractors and achieving the required service outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to ensuring Workplace Health and Safety, Equal Employment Opportunities and Affirmative Action policies and procedures are met
- Demonstrated relevant experience in general facilities maintenance and building maintenance
- Demonstrated commitment to the processes of continuous improvement and quality customer service
