The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, the Management Accountant is the key to manage statutory accounts and analyse financial information to support the business in meeting finance, accounting, and compliance requirements.
The responsibilities of the role include:
- Coordinate month end accounting process including journals and balance sheet reconciliations across all entities.
- Oversea AR and AP function.
- Prepare and submit weekly cash flow forecast report.
- Prepare daily balance sheet reconciliation for AR, AP and Inventory.
- Monthly compilation and review of WIP report.
- Liaise with external auditors with auditing process and queries.
- Oversee maintenance of fixed asset registers, leases and depreciation.
- Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS and FBT in ATO portal.
- Maintain Capex register and monitor Capex projects financial performance.
- Assist with the ongoing compliance of internal control environment, including continuous improvement of internal controls, policies, processes, and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecasts.
- Assist with the preparation and procedures of year-end and statutory accounts.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly board meeting package.
- Assist with intercompany reconciliation and postings.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecasts.
- Assist payroll function during absence of payroll manager.
- Assist the finance team to meet the responsibilities of the Group finance function.
- Ad hoc financial tasks to support the Finance Business Partner and Group CFO.
- Mentor and coach junior accountants.
The successful applicant will have:
- A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, commerce or equivalent.
- CA/CPA/CIMA qualified or working towards.
- Minimum 3 years post qualification experience as a Management Accountant preferably in mining sector.
- Highly developed understanding of accounting principles and ability to apply in a complex environment.
- High level of attention to detail with strong business and financial analysis skills.
- Experience in budgeting, planning and forecasting in a complex business.
- Experience In statutory reporting and balance sheets reconciliation.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to work across a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Sound computer skills with MS Office Suite and financial management systems /databases.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and part of a team.
