REMONDIS Australia currently has an exciting opportunity for a motivated Management Accountant to join the ETS business based in Minto. This role is ideal for someone who is looking for a diverse range of work, at one of the world’s large recycling, service, and water companies.
What’s involved
As a Management Accountant, you will work as part of a small team and assist in the preparation of month end reporting, financial analysis, budgets, forecasts, and analysis of operational metrics. Using your strong technical accounting and stakeholder engagement skills you will be working with business leaders and managers to solve real world problems.
What your day will look like
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Undertake regular business accounting activities such as accrual, provisions and journal entries
Provide advice on the financial status of the business
Set up reporting tools and systems for the business
End of month reporting ensuring all data is presented in a timely and accurate manner
Assist with monthly Profit and Loss forecasting including variance commentary
Assist with the quarterly budgeting / forecasting processes or as required
Provide the management team with strong cost accounting expertise, particularly around costing future projects, estimating and providing for waste disposal cost (allocating and analyzing direct and indirect costs, actual vs. budgeted cost variance analysis, etc.)
In conjunction with other stakeholders including business managers, NSW Commercial and Finance Manager and Head Office finance team develop and monitor annual revenue/expense budgets for the purpose of controlling funds and measuring operating results
Provide accurate reporting and monitoring of sub-contracting cost
Be involved in CAPEX requests, GL reconciliations and P&L reports

About you
We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant with:
Min 5 years’ experience previous experience in a management accounting role for an industrial business (ideally waste, hazardous materials, dangerous goods, logistics, heavy industry, mining, construction, earthmoving industries)
Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
CA/CPA qualified
Highly interested in business partnering, commercial accounting, data analytics and process/performance improvement
Strong knowledge of accounting standards and conventional management accounting/reporting practices
Strong knowledge of financial accounting procedures and practice
Advanced skills in P&L analysis and budgeting/forecasting
Proven experience in a business partnering role in a complex dynamic environment
Advanced Microsoft Excel skill (advanced referencing formulae, financial modelling, ability to build models bottom up)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Large ERP experience SAP, JDE, Oracle, Dynamics 365 preferred
Proficient in the use of BI tools like TM1/ Planning Analytics/ Power BI/ Hyperion to perform quick analysis
Proactive problem solver with a focused on achieving outcomes
Strong cost accounting and inventory expertise, purchase order process experience
