We are looking for a part time (3-4 days) Management Accountant. Advertised salary is FTE.
We are Chimu Adventures, a dynamic, medium-sized tour operator specializing in unforgettable adventures to Latin America and Antarctica. We're looking for a detail-oriented and passionate Accountant to join our growing team and play a vital role in our financial success.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a fast-paced accounting environment.
- Proven experience with accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- An ability to manage people
- A passion for travel and South America is a plus!
What You'll Do:
- Manage the accounts team including overseeing of accounts payable and receivable in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage payroll and tax filings.
- Reconcile bank statements and prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports.
- Manage budgeting and forecasting.
- Maintain accurate accounting records according to GAAP standards.
- Interface with external auditors during annual audits.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant tax regulations.
- Contribute to the overall financial health of the company.
- Support sales team with weekly reporting and adhoc analysis.
- Ensure licences and insurances are maintained at correct levels.
