Our client is a leading provider of mining services, committed to delivering high-quality services to the mining industry. As the team continues continue to grow, they are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join the team on a 12-18 month contract.
Position Overview:
My client is seeking a qualified Management Accountant to support the financial operations and contribute to the strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will be a CPA or CA qualified professional with extensive experience in management accounting, preferably within the mining services or heavy industries sector. This role will involve close collaboration within the finance team and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective budget management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Develop, monitor, and report on key financial metrics and performance indicators.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insightful variance analysis.
- Support project accounting and cost control functions, ensuring financial integrity and efficiency.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Assist with year-end financial audits and other ad-hoc financial projects as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- CPA or CA qualification is mandatory.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience in management accounting, preferably within the mining or heavy industries sector.
- Strong proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
- Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to manage large datasets.
- Strong analytic, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
