About the Role
The Management Accountant will be responsible for the delivery of high quality, efficient and accurate management accounting services. Providing these services in an accurate and timely manner through the provision of exceptional time management skills whilst, meeting the expectations of the senior leadership team is crucial. The role will support the LEA Business Partner in the provision of comprehensive monthly management reports and analysis and assist the Senior Leadership Team and the LEA Board in understanding the financial performance.

Responsibilities of the Management Accountant
Management Accounting
- Development and maintenance of management reporting dashboards with variance analysis and commentary.
- Undertake critical assessment of variances and propose corrective actions.
- Undertake trend analysis in order to assess the need for re-forecasting.
- Preparation of financial models and cash forecasting.
- Assist the LEA Business Partner with the preparation of LEA’s budget process.
- Perform detailed KPI reporting and relevant analysis.
- Where available, assist the finance business partner with the following duties:
- Conduct month end financial reviews.
- Provide business insights.
- Assist entity owners with budgeting.
- Introduce best practice procedures and policies.
- Provide financial literacy to help improve financial acumen.
- Follow up and resolve issues as required.
Financial Reporting
- Maintain the Chart of Accounts that ensures accounts and its structure meets the statutory reporting and internal management requirements.
- Preparation and modification of basic Financial Reports as required and assist in all areas of general financial reporting.
- Assist with LEA’s monthly finance review process when possible.
- Assist the Finance Business Partner to meet LEA’s banking covenant requirements.
- Daily reconciliation of bank accounts
- Processing of supplier invoices and payments
- Preparation of Balance sheet reconciliations
- Issue of debtor invoice ensuring timely transactions and accurate coding and collections
Financial Reporting

- Preparation of monthly management accounts - My understanding is that my role will be to review the management accounts.
Tax Compliance
- Assist to ensure compliance with all relevant taxation legislation including GST and Land Tax.
- Work closely with externally contracted taxation specialists and auditors to ensure LEA and Aramex meet taxation and reporting requirements.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or commerce with a CA/ CPA or equivalent accreditation.
- Experience working within the private sector will be a distinct advantage.
- A strong understanding of management accounts and KPI reporting will be essential along with the ability to develop good relationships and work effectively within a team environment.
- Proven experience in coordinating a variety of tasks simultaneously to ensure service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability in preparing and managing budgets and forecasts.
- Computer literacy in Oracle and Microsoft suite of products with high level competency in Excel.
- Ability to reason conceptually and solve complex business problems through input of suitable business solutions.
- Well-developed written and oral communication techniques and an ability to effectively manage internal and external customers.
