As a Management Accountant, you will be an integral part of a team of financial professionals. Your role will involve providing top-tier financial management services including budgeting, proactively updating forecasts, monitoring the financial position, and providing strategic advice and reporting for designated areas determined by business needs. By adhering to the university's financial standards and policies, you will play a pivotal role in helping your assigned area achieve its business objectives through customized and business-focused financial solutions.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner you will be required to perform the following.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Financial and revenue services to clients in a business partnering model.
- Budget preparation, forecasting, financial monitoring, and strategic advice.
- Delivering management accounting services, preparing budgets and forecasts for research grants/contracts, generating reports, ensuring compliance with funding regulations, maintaining financial systems, and fostering effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Organize financial acquittals for external funding bodies
- Support business decision-making through insightful analysis, identifying trends and opportunities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial management practices and procedures.
- Qualifications include a degree in finance/accounting or relevant discipline, along with CPA or CA status, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in another management accounting role
- Relevant experience in technical and administrative fields
- Proficiency in financial accounting software, Microsoft Office, and database systems.
- Exceptional communication skills, conveying complex financial information in an easily understood manner.
- In-depth understanding of financial management, policies, standards, and legislative requirements.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills, interpreting data and identifying trends.
