- From $133,989 to $141,514 gross per annum (HEW Level 9), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
- Full-time, fixed-term for 2 years. Based at Wallumattagal campus, North Ryde.
- Newly created role to build AI enablement capabilities. Hybrid working arrangement.
- In consultation with the manager, lead the establishment, adoption, implementation and continuous improvement of AI best practices, policies, procedures, and tools for the University and entities.
- Work on functional design, process design, prototyping, testing, training, and defining support procedures, in collaboration with IT teams and University Executives.
- Lead the liaison and provide expert advice to stakeholders and the relevant project teams, including providing feedback to enable team members to make necessary changes in product performance or presentation.
- Partner with stakeholders to analyse and explain AI and machine learning (ML) solutions as well as set and maintain high ethical standards.
- Work with service delivery owners to ensure process awareness and compliance is appropriately monitored and managed including the production and publishing of consistent metrics and reporting.
- Articulate and document AI solutions ensuring the policies, processes, and practices standardise the management and use of AI domain capabilities.
- Participate in service/service provider reviews and provide input about service level agreements and underpinning contract negotiations.
- Manage and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels including Executives.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Proven expertise in the relevant AI domain, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of contemporary AI tools, frameworks, best practices, trends, and issues. This includes hands-on experience applying AI technologies (machine learning, natural language processing, etc.) to build practical solutions and a solid understanding of AI service management principles and frameworks.
- Proven ability to provide AI technology leadership within complex, multi-stakeholder project environments. This includes expertise in guiding the development and successful execution of highly critical projects, with a focus on formal project delivery methodologies.
- Proven experience in engaging, collaborating with, and influencing stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership, to achieve desired business outcomes. This includes the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating strong skills for successful influence and the ability to become a trusted advisor.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with a demonstrated ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels using tailored language and writing with clarity and precision.
- Proven ability to analyse complex information from diverse sources, exercise sound judgment in dynamic environments, and deliver clear analysis and reports. This includes a demonstrated capacity for creative problem-solving to achieve innovative, business-focused solutions.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage competing demands to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience, working with one or more project management methodologies, which may be supported by certification (such as Agile, PRINCE2 or PMBOK).
- Understanding of AI technologies and AI/ML processes within Higher Education.
