About the Agency
The NSW Reconstruction Authority is a statutory corporation that will improve how NSW plans for disasters and ensure that we recover from them faster.
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the NSW Reconstruction Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, businesses and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities and other stakeholders.
About the role
The Manager, Communications & Engagement leads the branding and marketing campaigns as well as provides support and coordination for community engagement programs to work towards deepening the connections with the community and stakeholders. You will be responsible for the communication and engagement for a high profile program of work, working directly with the program team while also being part of a communication and engagement team for the Northern Rivers.
As the successful Manager, Communications & Engagement, you will:
- Plan and lead the implementation of integrated community and stakeholder engagement strategies, programs and initiatives.
- Collaborate with other Communications & Engagement members to ensure a consistent approach across the organisations projects.
- Prepare communications collateral for the project/s including media releases, briefing notes, newsletters, correspondences, consultation documents, website content and other materials as required.
- Provide expert advice and information to the executive leadership team to support strategic decision processes and issues responses.

About you
High calibre candidates will have relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations or journalism or relevant/demonstrated equivalent experience in managing communications in a complex multifaceted politically and media sensitive environment. You will be self-directed and motivated, can work collaboratively and positively with others as well as the ability to think strategically while also having very good attention to detail.
Experience in development or land sales, land management, infrastructure, adaptation planning, regional planning and/or reconstruction work would be an advantage. The successful candidate is required to attend the office 3 days per week and be available to attend meetings with key stakeholders, community or events as required within the region.
