Manager Compliance Advisory

RACQ is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager Compliance Advisory to provide leadership and strategic direction to our Compliance team. This role is integral in ensuring that RACQ adheres to regulatory requirements and upholds the highest standards of compliance across all business units.

About the Role:

The Manager Compliance Advisory will lead the Compliance Advisory team, providing independent advice to business owners within the Assistance business and shared service functions. Key responsibilities include planning and implementing the compliance controls assurance program, reporting to executive and board committees, and ensuring compliance accountabilities are discharged appropriately across first and second line management. This role will also oversee the operational aspects of the organisation's Privacy controls and collaborate with senior leaders to address compliance issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Compliance Advisory team, ensuring effective advice and challenge to decision-making processes.
  • Plan and implement the compliance controls assurance program, including independent review and assessment of first-line management of incidents.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and obligation owners to ensure compliance accountabilities are discharged appropriately across the organisation.
  • Oversee the operational aspects of the organisation's Privacy controls and make recommendations for improvements to privacy architecture, policies, and controls.
  • Operationalise RACQ’s compliance assurance framework, ensuring compliance data quality and implementing automated systems and controls.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry developments, making recommendations for adjustments to compliance frameworks and practices.

About you:

  • Minimum of a University degree in Business, Commerce, Law, or related fields.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in compliance, risk, or audit management, preferably within a complex, matrixed organisation.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing second-line compliance assurance teams.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and positively influence risk behaviors throughout the organisation.
  • Extensive knowledge of Australian regulatory environment and key legislation applicable to the financial and insurance services industry.
  • Experience in developing enterprise-wide frameworks for sustained compliance with regulatory requirements and ISO 37301:2021 Compliance Management Systems.
  • Sound understanding of contemporary Australian corporate governance principles and occupational health and safety regulations in Queensland.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to analyse complex information and present findings clearly and compellingly.
  • Strong problem-solving, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills.
