About the role:
Peabody have an exciting opportunity for a new Manager, Engineering and Maintenance to join our Centurion underground mine, Our Centurion mine is located 160 kilometres west of Mackay. For more information on Centurion visit www.centurionmine.com.au
Reporting to the General Manager (GM), your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Leadership
Recruitment, management, coaching and mentoring for direct reports (up to 8) and training for the engineering, operational and project staff.
Talent development and career path planning, determining and implementing the manning policy for the engineering function, including minimum manning levels per role/function.
Designating and measuring compliance against those tasks that may only be performed by persons who have been trained to the required standard and assessed as competent to the standard required.
Accountability
Oversight and accountability to create the processes and systems required for the safe working procedure and standard operating procedures, monitoring and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Key input into the development and implementation of an effective Safety and Health Management System for the mine and Principal Hazard Management Plans.
Manage the site Asset Management Plan and monitor levels of asset reliability, maintainability and risk for the mining and surface assets.
This role is accountable for the accurate, timely and cost effective execution of the shutdowns required to achieve asset performance targets, ensuring the high integrity, data and usefulness of the asset data used for decision making and performance management.
Planning and Reporting
This role is responsible for information flows and reports to the General Manager, the Operations Manager and the Engineering team related to asset performance and engineering team efficiency. This includes prepared, accurate 5-year plan designed to deliver corporate targets of production, costs, safety and environmental integrity.
Accurate development of the two-year asset management plan. This will include Cap-Ex maintenance refurbishments, replacements, additions and rebuilds.
Accurate and efficient operational asset management plans up to two years, including the operational planning for 0 - 3 months.
Weekly and 24 hour asset reports, availability, lost production opportunities,. schedule compliance, planned work look ahead along with initiatives and improvement progress.
About you:
It's expected that you'll come from a similar background with extensive leadership experience and be well versed in engineering and maintenance practices within our industry. You'll bring mining management experience in engineering and maintenance operations, managing and developing processes, reporting, systems and people. You will also bring:-
- Minimum 8 years post trade maintenance experience with fixed & mobile mining equipment.
- 3 years coal mining experience in a managerial role for engineering and/or maintenance.
- High level of understanding and knowledge of CMMS (SAP) systems.
- Strong planning and reporting experience.
- Continuous Improvement methodologies know how.
- Knowledge of conducting safety and compliance audits, inspections and completing JSEA's, Risk assessments & Permits.
Requirements for the position:
- Relevant Mechanical/Electrical Trades qualification.
- Relevant Engineering Diploma/ Degree (desirable)
- Tertiary qualifications in Maintenance & Asset Management
- S1, S2, S3 Supervisory competences
- G2 Competences
- ICAM and/or RCA certificate of competence (desirable)
