About this position
Based at the City's Civic Centre, this position will report to the Director Infrastructure and lead the Engineering Design and Transport, Construction and Maintenance teams.
The Manager Engineering Services is a key player in the Infrastructure Directorate's strategic planning and projects. This role ensures that the City operates within best practice engineering standards while meeting the needs of the community. Additionally, the Manager will oversee the design of roadways, drainage, earthworks, footpaths and other projects.
This position will also work closely with key stakeholders to provide comprehensive engineering advice and recommendations.
What we are looking for
To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Professional background working in Civil Engineering and Project Management
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering design and construction principles combined with knowledge of relevant legislation, civil engineering standards and procedures
- Proven ability to lead and be accountable in the work environment by empowering, motivating and developing people
- A high level of business and commercial acumen
- A track record of successfully building and managing effective project partnerships
Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Asset Management or relevant field
- Current driver's licence
- Current Police Clearance (less than three months old) Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition
