The Role:
The Manager Finance reports directly to Chief Operating Officer
and will see you responsible for:
delivery of financial reporting functions, both internally
and externally to the department
the provision of strategic financial advice to senior and
executive staff across the department
maintenance of the department’s budget, including the
development of savings and funding strategies
the provision of input into Cabinet submissions,
ministerial briefings, and budget submissions
the delivery of the department’s annual financial
statements and budget papers
attendance at Parliamentary Committees to support the Chief
Executive and Minister.
The role leads a high performing team of finance staff across a
range of management, financial and operational accounting
functions. The role has responsibility for external relationships
with the Department of Treasury and Finance and the
Auditor-General’s Department.
About You:
To be successful in this position, you must be able to
demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:
You will have experience in leading and performance
managing a team to meet key finance deliverables.
You will have the ability to think strategically and
provide high level advice to executive to inform decision
making.
You will have excellent oral and written communication
skills, including experience in the preparation of high-level
briefings.
You will have extensive experience in financial and
management reporting, and budgeting processes.
Desirable Qualification:
Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, commerce, or
related discipline.
Special Conditions
Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory
Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National
Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every
3 years.
Remuneration:
MAS3 – $125,970
