We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Manager, FOI & Information Release. This role is crucial in shaping and leading the Information Release operations of the department in alignment with legislation, public sector initiatives, and the organization's policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Management of the departments National Redress Scheme (for survivors of historical institutional sexual abuse) including the timely and efficient oversight of the search and release of department documents within legislated and policy guidelines.
- Managing the departments freedom of information requests in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Oversight of services for document requests for court orders, legal requests, government agency requests, administrative release of student records.
- Lead and manage the provision of high level confidential and impartial policy advice to the Director Customer and Information Services and other stakeholders in relation to the FOI Act and Information Release more broadly in accordance with legislative and policy requirements.
- Determine operational policy and procedures within the framework of agency requirements and implement management practices that ensure a high performing team and effective systems deliver high quality and equitable service provision across the Department.
Qualifications:
- Desirable a tertiary qualification relevant to education, public administration, public policy, or equivalent experience.

Special Conditions:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
