- Starting base salary of $155,887 pa (Level 10) + 13.75% super

ABOUT THE ROLE
Our People and Culture team provides strategic, procedural, and legislative support and advice covering Employee Relations, HR Business Partnering, Workforce Planning, Strategy and Transformation, Workplace Health and Safety, Employee Services, Recruitment, and HR Technology Systems.
Reporting to the Director, Organisational Development, this role manages the implementation and enhancement of UNDA’s Work Health & Safety management system framework to ensure the health, Safety and Wellbeing of employees, students, contractors and visitors, and meet relevant legislation and standards by reducing risk and enhancing wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and motivate the Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to enhance their skills and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop, implement and review health, safety, and Wellbeing management systems, practices, policies and initiatives to ensure the University meets relevant legislation, regulations and standards, and to foster a culture of Safety and Wellbeing.
- Develop and implement strategies, processes and resources to mitigate identified risks, with a focus on educating and empowering all individuals and Work Areas to manage and act on risks.
- Develop and deliver training programs and resources on health, safety, and Wellbeing topics for employees.
- Work collaboratively with various Work Areas, committees, and external agencies to promote a holistic approach to health, safety, and Wellbeing.
ABOUT YOU
- Postgraduate qualifications with proven experience in leading the management of Health and Safety, Risk or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the legislative requirements for work, health and Safety and workers’ compensation matters in Australia, including various State-based requirements
- Extensive knowledge of effective work health and safety policies, processes, management systems and hazard management practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to collaborate, influence and drive change with a diverse range of stakeholders to enhance WHS outcomes.
- Strong organisational skills, with demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise workload, handle multiple tasks and work efficiently and effectively to deadlines and respond to multiple and diverse stakeholders.
