About the role
Reporting to the Head of People - Australia, you will bring your exceptional business partnering skills and commercial acumen to a role supporting a dynamic operational environment. You will partner with leaders to guide Newmont Boddington‘s operations and work alongside a collaborative HR team who are committed to upholding the Newmont Values.

You will manage activities of Human Resources, Training, and Accommodation and Site Access teams by ensuring the company’s strategic and operating aims are achieved.  Professional support is provided from the centralised HR Teams consisting of HR Systems and Services, Total Rewards, Talent Management and Talent Acquisition.

This role is full time permanent position, working a 5 day on, 2 days off, 4 days on 3 days off on-site roster. 

In this role you will be.

  • Delivering on site based KPIS and budget controls. Oversee the workforce planning and budgeting process ensuring provision of quality, robust and correct recommendations to the business. Develop and manage the HR operating budget to ensure the provision of HR services in the most cost-effective manner. 
  • Driving site adoption of the HR support model and tools. Ensure consistent branding, exceptional business partnering and support of the share services model at site level. Partner with site leaders to provide support and education to ensure understanding and capability.
  • Developing customer service capability and building a business partnering focused culture within the HR leadership team.Develop the capability of your team members to ensure they have the skills and behaviours to effectively achieve their role objectives.
  • Contributing valued and dynamic HR counsel as a member of the leadership team. Support the General Manager and site leadership team with HR guidance, consultation / general counselling and advice to line managers. Support the delivery of policies and programs, constant monitoring and development of site-specific and regional HR procedures and practices as well as guidance and interpretation on HR policies and procedures. Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrating personal commitment to the Company Values.  (not limited to; health, safety, environmental and social responsibility practices).Be a visible presence in the field, pre-starts and at safety meetings. Raising, discussion and resolution of health, safety, environmental and social responsibility issues at regular meetings with business partners and employees and Health & Safety Representatives. Ensuring the company’s code of conduct is upheld and our people feel cared for, included, respected and valued in our business.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in HR / IR, Business, Commerce or Law
  • Broad HR expertise and experience at Management level
  • Significant site based HR support experience
  • Familiarity with related Employee Relations and Workers Compensation legislations
  • Demonstrated ability to review and analyse data for decision making
