TDC operates out of Wadeye, a large remote indigenous community in the North-West Daly region. We are a thriving Not-for-Profit corporate entity organisation, owned by members of the Wangka, Tjanpa and Lirga peoples. TDC has been established by the 20 clans of the Thamarrurr Region to represent them in relation to business, socio-economic development and employment and training.
The Manager KarduCommunity Programs is responsible for services and programs that are focused on improving the overall social and emotional wellbeing of Kardu throughout the Thamarrurr region. Programs are usually government or TDC self-funded and are typically not programs that generate profit for TDC. The Manager Kardu Community Programs will be required to manage and implement various contracts held by TDC, as well as management of staff in each area.
Programs include, but are not limited to:
- Da Ngimalmin Committee – aims to further the local governance and direction provided to education.
- Alternative Education Program – Working to establish an improved approach to education and training by bringing the community and education systems together.
- Youth Diversion – Engage local youth, providing services, support and programs which are primarily designed for young people.
- Women & Children’s Centre – supporting families and reconnecting children with the community and Country, developing and strengthening traditional knowledge systems.
- Men’s Shed Health & Wellbeing – enhancing the wellbeing and empowerment of men and youth in the community.
Skills
Essential
- Understanding of the challenges of working in remote Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and manage staff to ensure that organisational guidelines and prescribed policy and procedures are followed.
- Demonstrated ability to apply project management skills to a variety of ongoing projects simultaneously to maximise efficiency and performance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage operational finances to ensure compliance with organisational budgets and achieve financial targets.
Desirable
- Previous experience living and working in remote communities.
- Previous experience of applying for, managing and acquitting Federal and/or NT grants.
- Ability to process comprehensive information on computers and online platforms.
Qualifications
- Qualifications in human in human services, employment services, community welfare, social work and/or community development are desired.

- Obtain Northern Land Council permit (with assistance)
