- Clerk Grade 11/12 ($139,787- $ 161,663) plus employers' contribution to superannuation
About the Agency
The NSW Reconstruction Authority is a statutory corporation that will improve how NSW plans for disasters and ensure that we recover from them faster.
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the NSW Reconstruction Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, businesses and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities and other stakeholders.
About the role
The Manager, Legal provides expert legal advice, guidance and solutions on complex operational, commercial and reputational issues, to internal stakeholders and the leadership team.
Reporting to a Director, Legal, you will provide advice to and represent the CEO and Executive Directors in discussions with other key stakeholders in matters requiring legal representation including negotiation of complex commercial transactions and agreements.
Undertaking a wide range of tasks with often tight or competing timeframes, the role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, enthusiasm, and a commitment to providing high quality advice and services. Your communication and interpersonal skills are highly developed, and your strong stakeholder management skills provide you the confidence and ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with a variety of stakeholders and team members.
We will also support the development of your leadership capabilities, providing the opportunity to mentor and uplift junior team members.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated extensive knowledge, and/or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Property law
- Commercial law;
- Construction law;
- Drafting and negotiating Project Delivery Agreements, Funding Deeds, complex grants arrangements and ancillary side deeds;
- Structuring complex transactions;
- Agreements for Lease and Leases; and
- Privacy law.
High calibre candidates will have an admission as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of NSW and a current practicing certificate, as well as tertiary qualifications in a relevant legal field. They will have extensive knowledge and experience in providing legal advice in a complex multifaceted agency or business. Strong candidates will have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and an ability to deliver outcomes while working in a dynamic environment.
