Medical Workforce Manager – Doctors in Training
- Part Time Fixed Term position based at Royal Melbourne Hospital (20 hours per week until 5/2/25)
- Co-Manage the rostering and day to day management of Doctors in Training (DiT)
- Provide leadership and management for the workforce co-ordinators and DiT team
The Medical Workforce and Education Unit is a collaborative team, supporting both the junior and senior Medical Workforce as well as medical education. The DiT workforce team is committed to ensuring all aspects of rostering, vacancy and leave management and rotation planning in a timely and effective manner. The role also oversees secondments to our partnering organisation. This position is a job share role with another 0.5 EFT manager.
The DiT workforce team have responsibility for rostering for a large volume of our Doctors in Training. More broadly there is significant interactions with the other managers within Medical Workforce and education, heads of unit, finance and our DiTs.
Your new role:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership of the DiT workforce team to ensure all aspects of rostering, rotation planning and leave management are completed within identified KPIs and within RMH policies and procedures.
- Provide oversight and leadership to the DiT workforce team to ensure rosters are designed, implemented and published within RMH guidelines and EBA requirements.
- Build relationships with program directors, service directors, unit heads and other support departments to ensure effective delivery of service related to Doctors in Training.
- Specific portfolios will be determine between the co-managers following appointment to the role.

- You have demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, with a focus on collaborative working relationships.
- You have extensive rostering experience.
- You have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- You have excellent attention to detail.
- You are able to develop, implement and evaluate strategic and operational plans in line with organisational priorities.
