Your opportunity:
Our Operations and Maintenance Planning team have an opportunity for a Manager Operations Hub to drive a digital transformation uplift for our 24/7 Control Room to ensure continuity of customer service standards at all hours, across all regions.
Leading a diverse team of teams, including the 24/7 Control Room which delivers real-time 24x7 operational monitoring and control, the Manager Operations Control is accountable to develop world class Control Room capability that ensures the day to day operational performance of 9500km water network and 9700km wastewater network is executed to ensure the safety of our staff and our customers, protect the environment and public health, deliver an exceptional customer experience and minimize cost in the long run.
This includes leading a structured approach to operational incident management, integrating with the corporate emergency management framework and utilising operational systems to ensure all reactive issues are resolved in a controlled, efficient and planned manner in the first instance.
Reporting to the GM Operations and Maintenance Planning, success in this role will be measured by how well operational technology is leveraged to prevent operation events, effective day to day operational and customer decisions being made, controlling operational incidents to deliver on customer experience, successful management of repeat performance issues to resolution and informed and collaborative involvement with broader organisation on network and event status.
To land this role, you will need the following:
- Significant experience working with operational technologies and systems such as SCADA, GIS, CMMS.
- Demonstrated ability to understand the technical dimensions of operating a water utility and the associated regulatory obligations.
- Experience directing outcomes during times of elevated urgency by applying a systematic and deductive approach to complex problem solving, gathering and processing relevant information and delivering confident decisions.
- Experience in incident management and business continuity planning.
- Demonstrated superior stakeholder management with strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

About you:
- A relevant degree qualification in engineering, science or business or equivalent experience.
- Experience or qualifications in emergency management or business resilience would be highly regarded.
- Significant experience working with operational technologies and systems such as SCADA, GIS, CMMS.
- Demonstrated ability to understand the technical dimensions of operating a water utility and the associated regulatory obligations.
- Experience directing outcomes during times of elevated urgency by applying a systematic and deductive approach to complex problem solving, gathering and processing relevant information and delivering confident decisions.
- Experience in incident management and business continuity planning.
- Demonstrated superior stakeholder management with strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading a 24/7 environment that has significant organisational impact and urgency associated.
- Experience and a passion for being a great leader.
- Experience leading remote operational service teams is desirable
