About the Role
As the Manager you will:
- Provide strategic direction and advice, and develop and coordinate department's initiatives to support the department's Reframing the Relationship plan
- Lead and prepare written advice and submissions including briefing notes, Cabinet submissions and other executive briefs.
- Collaborate across the department to integrate and strengthen cultural capability into our policies, systems and processes.
- Lead and manage a small team and collaborate across the department and with external partners to deliver high quality advice and support to senior executives.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify, analyse develop and provide high level strategic advice to the Minister, the Director-General and the Senior Executive of the department in relation to the department's initiatives to support the Path to Treaty and the Truth-telling and healing inquiry.
- Develop and implement systems to respond to requests to support the Truth-telling and healing inquiry.
- Develop, coordinate, review and report on the whole-of-agency implementation of the department's Reframing the Relationship plan and strategy
- Represent the department on inter-departmental committees and working groups, coordinate the department's contribution and lead executive support to multiple committees including multi-agency committees and DoE governance bodies.
- Manage a small policy team to meet all elements of its work program on time and within budget while building the capacity of team members.
- Apply high level skills to communicate effectively, consult and negotiate persuasively to and facilitate stakeholder meetings and briefings to senior management.
- Lead and manage significant projects providing direction, guidance and technical assistance to staff.
