Reporting to the Director, People, Partnerships and Performance, this key role has primary responsibility for the full range of People, Culture and Wellbeing services, including employee services, payroll, workplace relations, organisational development, and learning, OHS and Wellbeing services. A key advisor to the Director, broader Executive team, CEO and Council, the role will be critical in helping to drive Brimbank City Council’s broader transformational journey, shaping a strategic vision and inspiring an organisational culture that delivers on Council’s long-term planning and drives organisational efficiency.
The primary purpose of this senior role is to develop and execute the people strategies in support of the Council Plan and the Organisational Strategy. The role provides strategic leadership to develop an inclusive and high performing culture while providing effective and efficient people services that support the health and Wellbeing of the workforce.
Working closely with the CEO and the executive and senior leadership teams, the Manager provides strategic leadership to deliver desired organisational change and whole of employee life cycle, organisational capability, support and processes.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading Council’s People, Culture and Wellbeing function, partnering with stakeholders at all levels to drive change and improvements to Culture and people experience
- Delivering strategic advice and contemporary HR services and initiatives to strengthen organisational Culture and development
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve wellbeing and safety across the organisation’s 1000+ staff
- Oversight of the organisation’s journey into new, contemporary ways of working
- Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team
- Building organisational capability across people management and professional development
- Play a key role in leading a program of activities to position Council as an employer of choice
- Deliver statutory responsibilities and plan for the future workforce
- Drive the development and implementation of a range of policy and strategy positions relating to the portfolio functional areas
