The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and technical Business Development Manager based in Melbourne full-time in a hybrid role to spearhead our ingredients sales division, specialising in hemp and Australian native superfoods. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the food, pharmaceutical, or health industries, with a deep understanding of technical aspects related to ingredient sourcing, production, and applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive sales growth and market penetration for hemp and Australian native superfood ingredients.
- Identify and drive new business opportunities through new and existing client relationships and channels.
- Provide technical expertise and support to customers, addressing inquiries related to ingredient functionalities, applications, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of two direct reports, supporting their professional development and ensuring alignment with the company's goals.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, marketing, and operations teams to optimise product offerings and address customer needs.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to inform business strategies and decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven track record of success in Business Development, with a focus on ingredient sales within the food, pharmaceutical, or health sectors.
- Strong technical acumen and understanding of ingredient sourcing, production processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to analyse market data, identify opportunities, and develop actionable plans to drive growth.
