About the Role
The Manager Risk and Governance is responsible for the formation of strategies to manage risk, and coordinate and execute governance activities across the business. This role drives the development, operating effectiveness, and coordination of Fremantle Ports’ Risk and Governance activities, including risk management, governance and integrity frameworks, corporate Risk and Governance assessments, and other associated activities. This role requires a strong willingness to understand and apply Fremantle Ports’ strategy and objectives. The right candidate will bring a proven commercial, ‘best for business’ approach to risk management and Governance, including strong stakeholder engagement and management skills with an ability to interact with people at all levels of the business. Efficient and effective implementation of key deliverables will be a focus for this role.
Key duties include:
- Leading the development, implementation, and on-going management of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework
- Ensuring all risk management activities are consistent, coordinated and associated with the achievement of corporate objectives
- Leading the development, implementation, monitoring and review of the corporate governance frameworks and policies
- Coordinating all governance activities across the business and provide reports to senior management and the Board
- Support corporate and operational business areas to ensure policies, frameworks and procedures are contemporary, fit for purpose and compliant with relevant standards, legal and regulatory requirements
Skills & Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification (law, business, finance, or equivalent) with in-depth experience developing, implementing, and managing contemporary governance and risk frameworks
- Significant experience developing governance and risk processes including ‘lines of defence’ assurance models with exposure to critical infrastructure organisations desirable
- Demonstrated ability to bring a commercial and ‘best for business’ approach to risk management and Governance, including effective understanding of a balanced approach to risk
- Sound understanding of the principles and application of business continuity and crisis management frameworks
- Highly developed ability to interpret standards and legislation to support risk assessments and decision-making
- Knowledge and experience of government and industry standards in relation to ethics, fraud, bribery, and corruption control
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing high performance teams, implementing organisational change, and influencing senior leadership teams
