We have a new opportunity to join as the Manager, Tax within our Group Finance team, based at St Kilda Rd, Melbourne.
Reporting into the General Manager, Global Tax, you will be responsible for the management of indirect taxes as well as the management of selected direct tax issues across Australia and APAC. You will be a proactive and driven individual, capable of managing multiple projects and will entail a direct interface with all Australian business units and corporate functions based in Australia and Singapore.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage Australian GST and employment tax issues across the Toll Group.
- Provide support and delivery with Australian corporate income tax obligations including managing selected technical issues and projects.
- Provide technical advice and support to stakeholders from Business Units and other Corporate functions.
- Assist in developing Toll Group's tax data management and analytics capabilities in order to extract value as well as continually improve Toll Group's reporting and compliance processes (with BEPS2.0 being a key forward deliverable).
- The role is also responsible for providing tax support for a portfolio of businesses outside of Australia.
To ensure your success you will possess:
- At least 5-7 years of professional tax experience, preferably in both professional practice and a corporate group.
- Strong understanding of the principles and practices of corporate taxation in Australia including direct and indirect taxes.
- Sound understanding of the accounting, legal and commercial considerations relevant to the tax issues in the industry in which Toll operates.
- Preferably a developed and proven skillset of data management and analytics, with advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with business units, external advisors and regulatory authorities.
- Degree in Commerce or Law.
- Professional qualifications (e.g. Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Adviser or equivalent).
