The Opportunity:
Icon Water has an opportunity for a proactive and enthusiastic senior ICT professional to join our Digital Transformation team. As the Manager, Transition Program you will provide leadership and direction across the strategic planning and prioritisation activities and play an integral role shaping the digital future of the organisation, defining core implementation strategies and uplifting Icon Water’s overall digital capability.
Your day will involve:
- Provide leadership and direction across the implementation of the Icon Water Transition Program (Nova) to meet desired short- and long-term business objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction across strategic planning and prioritisation activities for future tranches of the Digital Program.
- Champion change by challenging Icon Water’s digital ‘status quo’ and driving new ideas to expand the organisation’s digital thinking, agility, and capabilities.
- Lead the identification, prioritisation and development of digital projects, initiatives and activities that meet Digital Strategy objectives.
- Lead multiple stakeholder engagement initiatives to shape Nova and the future of the Digital Program, to resolve complex business and technical problems.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with digital partners including ActewAGL and key vendor organisations.
- Oversee complex vendor management and contractual activities, considering multifaceted dependencies, highly technical solutions, and high tempo.
- Lead implementation of multi-level project governance, such as steering committees and other forums appropriate to Icon Water’s size, budget, and criticality to customers.
- Provide leadership to a multidisciplinary, professional team of Icon Water staff, contractors, and vendors.
- Guide, mentor and develop junior staff in the fields of digital project planning and management, developing a professional cohort within the organisation.
- Other duties within the employee’s skill, competence, and training.
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (bachelor’s degree or higher) in digital, ICT or related fields.
- Extensive knowledge and command of digital/ICT project management principles and practices, including agile and waterfall approaches.
- Extensive knowledge of technology approaches and solutions to solving business challenges.
- Broad knowledge of procurement, contracting and financial management.
- Extensive experience in digital/ICT project management and/or related disciplines (ideally 10+ years).
- Significant experience in digital/ICT architecture and in shaping digital strategy/transformation to solve business challenges.
- Extensive experience, confidence, and skills in line management, and mentoring and developing a diverse team of digital and related professionals.
- Experience in complex, dynamic, fast-paced digital environments where adaptability and innovative problem solving are key.
- Experience in engaging, influencing, negotiating, and collaborating with a range of business.
