Position Summary
Neurospine Institute is a leading, privately owned, corporatised, multi-disciplinary, surgery-lead, medical and allied health practice specialising in comprehensive neurospinal care with offices in Murdoch, Perth City and Wembley. We are dedicated to providing exceptional medical services, advanced treatments, and compassionate care to our patients. With a team of renowned neurosurgeons, spine specialists, and dedicated healthcare professionals, we strive to improve the lives of individuals suffering from neurospinal disorders.
We are 6 years old, growing well and are recognised as being at the leading edge of both business and quality of care in our disciplines. We have an established research program and charity foundation that complements our clinical care programs. We have plans for growth, expansion and development in a complex sector with multiple stakeholders.
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary General Manager/Managing Director to lead our neurospinal practice into the next phase of growth and excellence. The General Manager/Managing Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the strategic direction of the practice, overseeing day-to-day operations and business performance and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
The General Manager/Managing Director will work in partnership with the Board, physicians, external stakeholders, clinical and medical administrative teams to deliver growth and continue to improve quality, efficiency as well as meet regulatory and compliance requirements. The General Manager/Managing Director will be responsible for driving business performance and people development and leadership of an effective and engaged workforce who operate in line with Neurospine Institute’s vision and values.
Accountabilities/Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve organisational goals and objectives.
- Provide visionary leadership to inspire and motivate staff towards excellence in patient care and service delivery.
- Oversee all aspects of operations, including finance, human resources, marketing, and clinical services.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in patient outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, and strategic partners.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and uphold the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct.
- Drive business development initiatives to expand the practice's reach and impact within the community and beyond.
- Ensure all Compliance, Ethics & Probity requirements are met.
- Continued focus on Quality and Safety at all times.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Proven business development and management experience in health care or related business. Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or MHA preferred).
- Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare administration, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
- Exceptional strategic planning and organisational skills, with the ability to translate vision into action.
- Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, and revenue cycle management.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills and an ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships and networks, particularly amongst specialist doctors, physicians and allied health professionals. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively influence and negotiate with staff at all levels of a small organisation. Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience leading commercial matters associated with procurement and major contracting arrangements, including government.
- Demonstrated acumen in people and process change management and implementing process improvements.
- Ability to prioritise in a demanding environment and consistently demonstrate company vision and values.
- Knowledge of surgical service delivery and associated allied healthcare services.
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions is desirable.
