Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, this diverse role is responsible for supporting the improvement of key performance indicators of Cook via optimizing and reducing waste in manufacturing processes, supporting areas and/or other company continuous improvement initiatives.
In this position you will utilise your analytical skills and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, techniques, and tools to identify improvement opportunities across the business whilst solving problems and deploying a Lean culture that teaches, coaches and mentors others to improve processes.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Using analysis of Cook processes (manufacturing, transactional, etc.) and relevant data sources, implement problem solving methodologies to identify root causes and develop appropriate solutions. As needed, assess results of changed processes, document results via data analysis and written project summaries, communicate results to team members and stakeholders.
- Provide daily communication to the appropriate level (management to end-users) of the organisation to gain approval, sponsorship, and/or buy in for potential improvements initiatives. Daily collaboration and communication with appropriate cross-functional teams to develop solutions that work for the affected groups in the organisation.
- Daily coach, teach and mentor others improvement and problem-solving initiatives including, but not limited to, look at key performance indicators to make decisions, identify and eliminate wastes, identify root causes, and develop appropriate solutions.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by asking questions to challenge the status quo, reviewing processes for improvement or optimization opportunities, teaching Lean- agile principles via conducting training or facilitation of activities.
- Weekly develop and track KPIs (key performance indicators).
- Conduct time studies to develop efficient process flow, increase productivity and balance the manufacturing processes.
- Improve manufacturing and inspection processes. Perform equipment and process validations and testing to internal procedures and/or external standards to support improvements.
- Identify potential new projects and bottleneck operations based on data analysis.
To succeed in this role, you must have the following:
- Professional Engineering/Science qualifications essential
- Knowledge and experience of various manufacturing processes used in medical device manufacture desirable
- Demonstrated manufacturing or engineering experience in a highly regulated industry desirable
- Demonstrated experience working within a Continuous Improvement environment essential
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification desirable
- Experience using project management tools and concepts essential
